My Views on Data Processing Jobs in Cognizant, Accenture, etc for Pharma Graduates:

Data Processing Executives:

Companies like CTS, Accenture and so many MNC companies are calling for Walk-in interviews for these positions; I too entered into this field as such. Here I am sharing my views and experiences.

This role is defined for any science graduates, but suits the pharmacists more as they are good with medical terminology. However employers are not hiring with Pharmacy as criteria, but communication skills & system knowledge also matters.

Job Description:

In USA as per ACA (Affordable Care Act), everybody in US should possess a health insurance based on their affordable amount in order to ensure that every US citizen should get health benefits when they are really needed.

As a part of this, along with federal government, many private sector insurance companies started providing insurance policies with different tariffs. Welpoint is also one among them, for which our team is working.

As a part of my job, we use to Enroll the people based on their selected policies and we also act as bridge between the patients and providers (Hospitals/Doctors).We use to adjudicate (validate, negotiate)the policy amount claimed by provided and pass the bill amount to the doctors on behalf of patients.

Career Growth:

Health sector is always a growing sector, where people will be visiting Hospitals and will claim back for their money. As the Policy Holders will renew their policies every year and also gradual increase in the number of Policies, growth in this profile is always assured

Coming to the growth in positions, we can see very fast growth in career and if we keep all our efforts we can reach the Manager levels within 5-6 years. The hierarchy is follows:

Associate--> Sr. Associate--> Subject Matter Expert---> Team Leader ---> Team manager -->SDM---> General Manager. 

Regarding Salary structure, an associate who begins his career as fresher in this profile will earn a bit little in his early phase, but they can earn a good sum of amount as they move on with experience. I have seen few people earning 8-9 lakhs per annum with 4-5 years of exp.

Communication skills, Medical terminology, Team play, are the general things to be known for these positions. Medical coding will add you an additional bump to grow high.
